MENS BOWLS NEWS 06/05/2024

A big week for South Tamworth Bowling Club with our Lady Club Champion Pairs winners Carol White and Chris Myers continuing on with their impressive form this year progressing to the Final of the Women’s State Champion of Champions Pairs. In the final they played the strong Cabramatta side Jamie-Lee Worsnop and Ellen Fife who proved to be difficult to overcome with Carol and Chris playing very well Jamie and Ellen were too consistent on the day. Yet another great effort from our Ladies, Runners-Up in the State Champion of Champions Pairs. Chris will now contesting the Singles at Cabramatta commencing Monday May 13.

Congratulations to our Grade 5 Open Pennant Team on winning the 2023—2024 Zone 3 Final against Wee Waa at Gunnedah on Saturday. They now qualify for the State Finals to be played on June 28th-30th at St Johns Park. An Awesome effort following their win in the Grade 6 Open Pennant last year bringing home the State Flag.

South Tamworth hosted the Zone 3 Finals of the Grade 7 Open Pennants. Four Sectional winners Inverell Sporties, Murrurundi, Bingara and Bendemeer played each other in a round robin format with Bingara winning all of their 3 rounds finishing on top of the ladder to qualify for the State Finals. Congratulations to Bingara and we wish them well when they contest the State Finals at Club Merrylands.

Champion of Club Champion Singles sectional (Chris Myers) is being held at Cabramatta Bowling Club on 13th May. The Finals Series from 14th – 16th May.
Division 1 Ladies Pennants will be held in Charlestown/Lambton from 21st-23rd May.
The draws are now on Bowlslink for the 2024 Australian Open which is being held on the Gold Coast from 8th-21st June.
