The competition progresses from Preliminary Rounds to Regional Finals and State/Territory Finals, and culminates with the National Finals, this year to be staged during the Bowls Premier League at Club Pine Rivers in November 2022. Matches will again be played in a two bowl triples format. Matches consist of two sets of five ends with a one end tie-breaker if required. There is also be one optional trial end per match. To ensure quick play, there are no jack rolls, instead jacks are to be placed by the team that controls the mat. Ideally, there will be two jacks for each rink (one jack left at each end). All players within a team must be from the same club which is affiliated to your State and/or Territory Association (i.e. the club which players are a paid member and play their club championships with.
