MENS BOWLS NEWS 16/03/2026

‍ ‍

We had yet another exciting Final here at South on Sunday in the Club Pairs Championship. An appreciative crowd were there to witness a cracking game of lawn bowls between the teams of Ben Walker and Nathan Williamson who played Aaron Kelly and Nev White. In a game where only 28 shots were scored in the 18-end format an extra end was required to separate the finalists. With the score locked at 13 all on completion of the final end, a coin was tossed for control of the mat and the finalist with firm sportsman like handshakes acknowledging the performance from each other’s side in the final. Unfortunately, there could be only one winner in the final with Aaron and Nev fortunate enough to hold on to the shot to win the Championship. Congratulations to both finalists on a great Final.

‍ ‍

Aaron Kelly is touring again this time to the nation’s capital Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport’s. The Australian Para Jackaroos Squads will be working with a group of AIS professionals being educated in self-care, nutrition and recovery, enhancing athletes’ knowledge on finishing a competition in the same physical state as which they commenced. The Squad will also undergo biomechanical analysis on their action and sports psychology sessions designed to support and give an understanding of how to best perform when it counts.
