The One Day King Pairs competition is closing this Saturday and the 7-a-Side competition is now open with a nomination form on the noticeboard.

It has been another outstanding week for South Tamworth Bowling Club, with our players continuing to perform strongly across State and Junior events.

Carol White, Ingrid Harriott, Cath Verdich and Chris Myers continued their brilliant form, being crowned State Senior Women’s Fours Champions. This was another tremendous achievement.

Our Senior Men were also in good form following on from the Triples. Where Gordon, Greg and Jeff were joined by Tony Daley in the State Senior Men’s Fours, where they again put together a strong campaign to reach the semi-finals.

In the Women’s Fours, Leanne Pryor, Charli Cameron, Jo Briggs and Ella Cameron produced a terrific campaign to reach the State Final. While they were beaten in the decider by a very strong side, their performances throughout sectional play and the semi-final were outstanding, and they should be extremely proud of their efforts.

South Tamworth’s Junior Bowlers were also heavily involved in a fantastic showing from North West at the Junior Inter-Region Seven-a-Side. Ella Cameron recorded two good wins in her section of the Singles, while Jacob Martin and Charli Cameron were beaten semi-finalists in the Pairs. In the Fours, Coen Schroeder, Hudson Pryor, Edward Sipple, Jayden Elliott claimed silver medals, with North West finishing runner-up overall at the Inter-Region event. A great result for the region, with our South Juniors playing an important role in the team’s success.

Over the weekend, South Tamworth also hosted a BPL Cup qualifier, with two South sides progressing through to the Regional Finals to be held on August 29 and 30. The Section 1 winners were Lucas Preston, Brett Preston and Blayne Cook, while the Section 2 winners were Gordon Cheney, Greg Harris and Jeff Myers.

Congratulations to all of our South Tamworth players on a fantastic run of results, and all the best to our BPL Cup sides when they contest the Regional Finals.
