MENS BOWLS NEWS 20/01/2025
Our Lady Bowlers Chris Myers, Carol White, Cath Verdich and Linda O’Reilly contested the NSW Australian Indoor Qualifiers over the weekend with Carol progressing to the Quarter-Finals, Chris reaching the Semi-Final and Linda contested the Final. In the Mens Qualifiers we had Joe Verdich, Jeff Myers, Jeff Holloway and Aaron Kelly competing. Joe reaching the Quarter-Final and Aaron contested the Final.
This week for the Country Music Festival on Tuesday 21st to Thursday 23rd of January we have the Country Music Triples and the Triples Social Bowls.
Come down to South Bowlo and Celebrate Australia Day with us on Sunday by having a game of Triples. Get out your Green and Gold or Australia Day outfits and enjoy a fun filled day. Check our Noticeboard for entry and further details.
The Mixed Fours Nomination Sheet is on the noticeboard and available on Bowlslink for entries. Nominations will close on February 1.
South Bowlo competition will resume on the 16th of February with the first round of the Mixed Fours. The Fours will be run on Sundays alongside the Open Pennants, which will be played on Saturdays over 6 weeks commencing on the 15th of February.

Wednesday and Friday Commencing at 10:00am names in by 9:30am on the day of play.

Australian Indoor Singles Qualifying
Chris Myers, Carol White, Cath Verdich and Linda O’Reilly contested the NSW Australian Indoor Qualifiers over the weekend. Carol, Chris and Linda all won their sections. Carol made it to the quarterfinals; Chris to the semifinals and Linda to the final. Great effort by all players in very trying weather conditions.
Ladies Club Championships
Club Selected Pairs
Nominations are open for the Club Selected Pairs. Entries close Sunday 2nd of March with play to begin Sunday 23rd of March. Some games set down for Saturday 5th of April may need to be rescheduled due to some of our members being involved in the State Playoffs in Ballina at the same time. This will take precedence over our club games.
State Ladies Pennants
The Match/Selection Committee will organise a get together soon for all the Ladies who are involved in the State Pennant Playoffs in March. There will also be an unfurling of the Grade 3 flag. Details will be known later.
Women’s State Carnival
Entries are still open for the annual State Carnival which is being held in the Manning Great Lakes Region from Monday 5th to Friday 9th of May.
100 Club Roster
We will again be looking for volunteers to help with the 100 Club on the 1st, 4th and 5th (if applicable) Friday of the month. A sheet is on our Noticeboard for names. All help is greatly appreciated. If you are unsure about what to do, there will always be a committee member there to help.

Open Gender Pennants starts on Saturday 15th of February.
Next General Meeting is Sunday 23rd of February.
