Our presentation night is on Saturday July 18, there is a list on the noticeboard for numbers and for catering purposes.
The 2026 South Tamworth Bowls Program is on the noticeboard. The 2026 calendar will be a 6-month program in the interim period leading up to where Bowls NSW implement the transition to a calendar season which commences 1-January 2027. We will be running 6 competitions in the 2026 season.
So as to give both Major and Minor bowlers the opportunity to play in every event, all competitions will be open. There is an outline of the competition format on the noticeboard as well with NSW 2026 COP to apply where appropriate. The Club Singles and Club Pairs will be the only regular competition to be played with only the Club Singles to go on to the NSW Champion of Champions State Championships.
South Tamworth Bowling Club is proud to have a strong group of our players representing the club at state level this week, with competitors heading to Dubbo for the Para State Championships, along with players contesting the State Mixed Pairs, State Senior Triples and Senior Fours State Finals.
Aaron Kelly, Keith Roberts and Des Cross will be flying the South Tamworth flag in the Para State Championships with Aaron and Des contesting the Para Open Singles and the Para Open Pairs State Championships.
Keith will be competing in the Para Reserve Singles State Championships and the Para Open Pairs.
We also have Chris Myers and Jeff Myers competing in the State Mixed Pairs Finals.
In the State Senior Men’s Triples Finals, South Tamworth will be represented by Gordon Cheney, Greg Harris and Jeff Myers.
In the State Senior Women’s Triples Finals, Carol White, Cath Verdich and Chris Myers will be representing the club.
Carol White and Chris Myers will also contest the Senior Women’s Pairs Finals.
In the State Senior Men’s Fours Finals, Gordon Cheney, Greg Harris, Tony Daley and Jeff Myers will be flying the South Tamworth colours.
In the Senior Women’s Fours Finals, Carol White, Ingrid Harriot, Cath Verdich and Chris Myers will also be representing South Tamworth.
This is an outstanding achievement for all our players, and South Tamworth Bowling Club is proud of each one of them. We wish them every success as they compete against some of the state’s best bowlers.
The Bob Fowler and Kerry McCarthy Memorial Open Triples nominations are open to enter to be played on September 26-27. The Carlton Dry 3.5 Men’s Fours Classic is October 3 -4 and open for entry. Come and see me in the Bowls Office or direct debit for payment details are on the flyers.

Ladies Bowls News 11/05/2026
WINNERS OF WOMENS STATE CARNIVAL.
THE CHAMPION TEAM OF CAROL WHITE, LINDA O'REILLY, CATH VERDICH and CHRIS MYERS
were the winners of this very large competition with 23 sections and 1160 lady bowlers held at Forster and eleven other surrounding clubs over five days.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every one played six games of 18 ends, at a different club each day.
All winning sectional teams with six wins went into the squad of 32 teams for the Knock out round played on Thursday,
Di Halcroft Kerryn Kay, Sue Musgrave and Sue Ninness were successful in having five wins and a one shot loss to be included in the knock out round.
They played a St John's Park team on the Rink that was Livestreamed, a very nervous experience over 12 ends, losing 12 points to nine.
A good enjoyable game with six ends won by both teams.
Three games were played that day with the weather changing to cold and blustery conditions.
Carol Linda Cath and Chris played extremely well all day to get three wins putting them into the semi Finals the next day.
Day five the weather returned to a sunny day with the ever present coastal breeze.
The Semi Final our girls played Karen McKay, Karen Jones, Sarah McKay and Chelsea McKay a composite team from St Johns Park with a convincing win of 21 shots to 15.
After ten games, 172 ends the FINALGAME was played on Friday afternoon.
Elaine Seidler, Jennifer Palmer, Kate Wingrove and Jenny Hepburn from Neutral bay up against our South Tamworth Champions.
The standard of play was outstanding by Carol Linda Cath and Chris, WITH A VERY IMPRESSIVE WIN OF 14 SHOTS TO 8.
