BOWLS NSW AWARDS NIGHT NOMINATIONS
South Tamworth Bowling Club has received outstanding recognition ahead of the Bowls NSW Awards Night, with the club nominated for Club of the Year and Carol White, Cath Verdich and Chris Myers nominated for the Wendy Wu Female Senior Bowler of the Year award. Their exceptional season included NSW Senior Women’s Triples and Fours titles, Division 3 State Pennant success and an unbeaten State Carnival campaign at Forster, while Carol and Chris also earned NSW Senior Blues selection.
The Club of the Year nomination reflects an extraordinary season across the whole of South Tamworth Bowling Club. On the greens, South claimed five North West Regional pennant titles before our Grade 6 Open and Division 3 Women went on to win NSW State Pennant championships.
The club also successfully hosted the Grade 7 Open State Pennant Finals and has continued to invest in coaching and junior development through the Thunderbolts Junior Bowls Academy.
Away from the greens, our outstanding restaurant, welcoming hospitality and strong community spirit continue to make South Bowlo a place where members and visitors feel at home. Following the amalgamation with West Tamworth, the combined club continues to trade strongly under CEO Matt Hill and is building genuine momentum both on and off the green. This nomination belongs to every player, volunteer, staff member, supporter and member who has contributed to a remarkable year for our club.
Entries close for the Club Singles Championship on Saturday 26th September
Don’t forget our Carlton Dry 3.5 Men’s Fours Classic Carnival on October 3rd and 4th. At the moment we do not have many entries.
FOWLER-McCARTHY MEMORIAL OPEN TRIPLES
There will be no social bowls over the weekend of September 26-27, with the full-field Bob Fowler and Kerry McCarthy Memorial Open Triples taking centre stage at South Bowlo.
