A round up of Round 3 Open Pennant results. Our Grade 3 Side travelled out to Moree. Our South Side took 2 rink wins from Moree losing narrowly on the master board by 5 shots, 59-54 giving Moree an 8 points to 2 points win.

South Grade 4 Gold demonstrated a home green advantage performance where they managed 3 rink wins against Wee Waa giving us a 10-0 result from a convincing 79-36 win on the master board. Gold sits firmly in second position on the ladder however they meet top of the leader board Gunnedah in the 5th round which could be interesting.

Grade 4 Green played Club Gunnedah however the home green advantage was negated by the strong Gunnedah side with the saving grace of Scott Sweeney’s team managing a draw to salvage a half point from the 9.5-point loss and the substantial 80-48 deficit on the master board.

South’s Grade 6 side turned our fortunes around with their 71-55 shot victory over Tamworth City on their home soil giving us 9 points to 1 point taking us to the top of the ladder at the halfway point of the 6-match season.

South’s Grade 7 Red side came back fresh from a Bye Round Spell last week with a strong performance against Barraba on our home track to take an 85-45 victory and 9 points to 1 point. The victory will see them come up against ladder leaders Kootingal this week in round 4 on our home track which could be a pivotal factor in the three-team section.

Grade 7 Blue played North Tamworth on their home turf with a convincing win on the master board 83 shots to 43 shots with three rink wins giving us a 10-0 victory placing them on top of the ladder.

South Tamworth is running a weekly best performed rink for Open Pennants played at home games with a $20 voucher to go to the four players. This week it was Grade 7 Red with Cindy Harding, Brian Brosie, Bob Parker and Richard McMahon and their Mammoth 49-5 rink win against Barraba. This coming Saturday round 3 the best performed rink in the Grade 7 Blue will be the winner.

South Grade 3 play Kootingal at Kooty 12:45:PM start time. Skips to arrange transportation NOTE NO TRAVEL MONEY so BEER ECCONOMY could apply.

South Grade 4 Green play South Gold at South at 12:45PM.

South Grade 6 play Werris Creek at Werris Creek 12:45PM start time. Skips to arrange transport NOTE No Travel Money so BEER ECCONOMY could apply.

South Grade 7 Red play at South against Kooty at 12:45PM

South Grade 7 Blue play Murrurundi at South with a 12:45PM commencement time.

On Saturday evenings from 6:30pm we are holding our Saturday’s Atomic Shoot Out Challenge. For a $2.00 Entry and bowling with Glow in the Dark Bowls from corner to corner of the green to a one metre diameter target you have a chance to win the current Jackpot which stands at over $2,140 and growing each week.
