At Moree Services Bowling Club over the weekend the North West Region Triples and Fours Finals were played. The Men's South Tamworth Senior Triples side of Gordon Cheney, Greg Harris and Jeff Myers dominated both the Sem-Final and Final to take the 2025-26 North West Senior Triples Title and Gold Medal winning 25-7 in the Semi and 23-10 in the Final against Tamworth City. Congratulations and all the best when you compete at the State Finals.
In the Senior Women’s Triples in an all South Final, Congratulations go out to Cheryl Douglas (Sub for Ingrid Harriott) Kath Daley and Sandra Mitchell taking out the Silver Medal. Congratulations to Carol White, Cath Verdich and Chris Myers as the 2025-26 North West Champions and Gold Medalists.
In the Senior Women’s Four the team of Carol White, Cheryl Douglas (Sub for Ingrid Harriott) Cath Verdich and Chris Myers claimed the North West Title and Gold Medal in a convincing win over West Tamworth.
In another Mate Vs Mate all South Final in the Senior Men’s Fours The successful Regional Triples Champions of Cordon Cheney, Greg Harris and Jeff Myers with the addition of Tony Daley coming into the Fours Side continued their good form to take the Regional Fours Title and Gold Medal leaving their fellow South Team Mates of Kev Mackey, Mick Tarbert Gary Merton with a Silver Medal. Congratulations to all Finalists.
Congratulations to our South Tamworth Bowlers who were selected to trial for selection in the North West Sides to represent Norh West at the 2026 Inter-Region Championships which will be played at Yamba from February 2nd to the 4Th. 12 Players and a Reserve will be selected from the 20 Players trialing in each of the Open Men’s, Open Women’s and Senior Men’s Squads.
Trialing Representatives from South for the Open Women’s Side are Sue Musgrave, Chris Myers, Linda O’ Reilly, Cath Verdich, Carol White and Cheryl Douglas.
Senior South Men selected for trails are Jeff Holloway, Jeff, Myers, Mick Tarbert, Joe Verdich, Nev White and Greg Harris.
Open South Men selected for the trials are Phil O’Reilly, Blayne Cook and Aaron Kelly.
Our Annual Sunday Open Hams continues this Sunday every Sunday following until December 21. The Hams Triples is limited to 14 Teams. With 1st & 2nd winners going home with a Half Ham each and 3rd taking home the Turkey Rolls for Christmas. Get your Team in early and as we need even numbers of teams for this event it will be first entries in first served.
On Saturday evenings from 6:30pm we are holding our Saturday’s Atomic Shoot Out Challenge. For a $2.00 Entry and bowling with Glow in the Dark Bowls from corner to corner of the green to a one metre diameter target you have a chance to win the current Jackpot which stands at over $1700.00 and growing each week.
